An editorial print design based on an interview I conducted with a good friend of mine where we explored the prompt, "What was an important 'first' you've experienced?"

After conducting my interview, I first created a mood board and some color swatches to capture the aesthetic I was beginning to envision. From there, I was able to begin working on sketches based on a 6x7 grid system.

My interviewee happens to be a very talented photographer, so she was able to provide me with original images of herself for my design. Upon seeing them, I was instantly inspired to create the front and back covers, as shown above.
Next, I moved on to laying out my spreads in InDesign based on my final sketches. Laying out all my text first made it easier to then place my final images and textures.
