The brand strategy, brand identity, and brand guidelines I created for the business concept Artistry Ink, an art gallery combined with a tattoo shop.
My design process began with a competitive brand analysis of two businesses with a similar concept to Artistry Ink. Since no other art galleries combined with a tattoo shop exist, I instead analyzed one tattoo shop and one art gallery. This helped my client (my classmate) and I figure out where Artistry Ink stands in the market, and how I can help surpass the competition.
Next, I conceptualized three directions for Artistry Ink based on what my client visualized for the business, including a brand strategy for each. I ended up building the brand based on concept #2 with a hint of concept #3. With a solid concept, I jumped into designing an extensive brand identity while simultaneously establishing a personality and tone of voice for the brand. This is comprehensively shown in the brand guidelines I designed for Artistry Ink, shown below.
